> Can a stativ verb like taher be expressed as hithpael -
Stative verbs in the HtD binyan often carry an estimative-declarative sense:
to show oneself to be X, or to pretend to be X.
WOC 26.2f lists Ezekiel 38:23, 2 Samuel 13:5, Proverbs 13:7, Psalm 78:21,
Esther 8:17.
2 Sam 13:5: "Lie down on your bed and pretend to be sick" (HiTXaL), not
"make yourself sick"! ;-)
