Walter actually presupposes a historical kernal of *facticity* which was
then overlayered by later interpreters.

For myself, I dont accept historicity, even of a historical kernal, for the
*exodus from Egypt*- and my point was that to write an essay regarding even
a scientific explanation assumes, a priori, that something did in fact occur.

As to the notion that I somehow was attacking faith- far from it. "Faith is
the substance of things unseen, the evidence of things hoped for". I would
argue, then, that the authentic attack on faith comes precisely by those who
insist on historicity to prove biblical/theological claims.
