Here are two inexpensive texts that are ideal for adult beginners:
Everyday Hebrew, Eliezer Tirkel edited by J.A. Reif, Passport Books,
Lincolnwood, IL. [Comes with 6 excellent cassette tapes]
The First Hebrew Primer: The Adult Beginners Path to Biblical Hebrew,
Simon, Resnokoff, Motzkin. EKS Publishing, Albany, CA.
At least as seen by a level bet student!
Let's hope someone has a better dictionary recommendation than the
classic, but scary Brown-Driver-Briggs Lexicon.
