The prepositions 'el and le-, while not synonymous, must share a
considerable semantic field. In other words: In a lot of contexts, either of
them might be used. Does anyone know of a study of the actual distribution
of the two in classical Hebrew - is one or the other characteristic of a
certain period, preferred by certain writers, predominant in certain genres
or whatever?
