Not a viewpoint, just a comment:
The Midrash coments on this verse: 'im zakhah, 'ezer; 'im lo zakhah, kenegdo
- ""When he's lucky - a helpmeet; when he's not lucky - against him".
Maybe a male chauvinist viewpoint, but food for thought.
