"The lord", especially with a small l (which suggests that the
reference is to a member of the House of Lords), is not an accurate
translation of YHWH. YHWH is a name, so it cannot really be
translated, but any attempt at "translation" should be an
unambiguously divine name.
Of course real difference between Genesis and Gilgamesh is the
montheistic framework of Genesis, with no other gods taking any part
even in a worldwide event.

Concerning the following two lines
The gods smelled a sweet savor. Epic of Gilgamesh tablet XI:160
The lord smelled a sweet savor Gen. 8:21
Are these accurate translations of the lines, i.e. Are the Akkadian and
Hebrew t
ranslations equivalent, or are there more accurate variants?
