JW's are under theological pressure to maintain that Jehovah is the
correct, and therefore eternal pronunciation of the name. Not that
Christians - or others - are immune to this sort of pressure - but it
follows an old path from doctrine to scripture - and not the other way
around. Mormons who question the teachings of JS or BY are cast out.
Period. Likewise JW's. There is no room for compromise - therefore
"curiously reluctant" becomes less curious.
