John Renning gave an excellent analysis of the Micah's Idol Narrative,
in which he demonstrated that the condemnation of Micah and his cultic
acts were integral to the narrative and linked to the cultic "sins" of
Jeroboam I.
I would like to add one more point: Micah makes his cultic objects from
silver he has stolen from his mother. The author doesn't condemn the
act' he doesn't have to.
Sincerely,
