the sources given by kirk are important, but don't forget there is a
*wider* view that includes the following search terms:
pragmatics, semantics, textlinguistics/text-linguistics, sociolinguistics,
anaphora/pronouns, topicalization/focus (syntax), stylistics, poetics,
to name just a few. if you have access to a large library catalogue,
try several search terms, also watch what related subject headings you
pull up. you're more likely to catch something useful, recent, and
maybe even exciting.
