Summary: compile fails for gcc33 and gcc34, stable 0.47-4
           Product: Codex
           Version: stable grimoire
          Platform: x86-64
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P3
         Component: gnu
        AssignedTo: sm-grimoire-bugs at lists.ibiblio.org
        ReportedBy: nils at chara-array.org

When trying to install gcc33 and gcc34, the compile fails in similar ways. I'm
installing to a dual-core AMD Athlon 64 machine.

I the case of the gcc33 install, it runs for about 3 minutes and then fails at
this point:

8< --- Snip --- >8

stage1/xgcc -Bstage1/ -B/opt/gcc33/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ -g -O2 -DIN_GCC
-W -Wall -Wwrite-strings -Wstrict-prototypes -Wmissing-prototypes -Wtraditional
-pedantic -Wno-long-long -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DGENERATOR_FILE -o gengenrtl \
         gengenrtl.o ../libiberty/libiberty.a
./gengenrtl -h > tmp-genrtl.h
/bin/sh: ./gengenrtl: No such file or directory
make[2]: *** [s-genrtl] Error 127
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/gcc-3.3.6.bld/gcc'
make[1]: *** [stage2_build] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/gcc-3.3.6.bld/gcc'
make: *** [bootstrap-lean] Error 2
! Problem Detected !

The "gengenrtl" is there and is shown to be executable. When one tries to
execute it manually, it fails as well.

gcc34 fails in a similar way:

8< --- Snip --- >8

stage1/xgcc -Bstage1/ -B/opt/gcc34/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ -g -O2
-fprofile-generate -DIN_GCC -W -Wall -Wwrite-strings -Wstrict-prototypes
-Wmissing-prototypes -pedantic -Wno-long-long -Wold-style-definition
-DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DGENERATOR_FILE -o genmodes \
         genmodes.o errors.o ../libiberty/libiberty.a
./genmodes -h > tmp-modes.h
/bin/sh: ./genmodes: No such file or directory
make[2]: *** [s-modes] Error 127
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/gcc-3.4.6.bld/gcc'
make[1]: *** [stageprofile_build] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/gcc-3.4.6.bld/gcc'
make: *** [profiledbootstrap] Error 2
! Problem Detected !

This feels more like an error in the build environment rather than the
individual spells, but so far, these are the only two spells that have failed
in this way.
