Whoops, I see the error of my ways now. It turned out that I was using an old
version of glibc (2.9) which needed to be updated after the linux kernel spell
was. Failing to do so, rendered my system unable to boot, with a udev error
about initializing inotify. I reverted udev using a live cd. When I searched
the Internet for the udev inotify error, I found the solution of updating glibc
(again from gentoo's bug reports:
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295145). Now that glibc is up-to-date
(2.11) and built from the current kernel, it installed /usr/include/linux/bsg.h
. Sorry for the erroneous bug report.
