Treeve, did you test it?
I just finish "sorcery system-update" and I can see mplayer (not only) is broken:
mplayer: error while loading shared libraries: libsmbclient.so.0: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory

hgr at matrix:~$ ls -l /var/cache/sorcery/samba-3.0.2*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 20566474 2007-04-24 06:46
/var/cache/sorcery/samba-3.0.24-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.bz2
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root   985045 2007-05-17 01:02
/var/cache/sorcery/samba-3.0.25-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.bz2

Seems samba cache contains only doc.

Seems the problem is with "pie":
$ gaze compile samba | grep pie
checking for -pie and -fPIE... yes
      LDFLAGS    = -pie -z combreloc -s -z combreloc -s
        LIBS="-pie -z combreloc -s -z combreloc -s -lcrypt -lcap -lresolv
-lresolv -lnsl -ldl -lldap -llber -z combreloc -s -z combreloc -s
-lgssapi_krb5 -lkrb5 -lk5crypto -lcom_err -lresolv -ldl -lldap -llber " \
Unknown entry '-pie' in $LIBS variable passed to setup.py
      LDFLAGS    = -pie -z combreloc -s -z combreloc -s
        LIBS="-pie -z combreloc -s -z combreloc -s -lcrypt -lcap -lresolv
-lresolv -lnsl -ldl -lldap -llber -z combreloc -s -z combreloc -s
-lgssapi_krb5 -lkrb5 -lk5crypto -lcom_err -lresolv -ldl -lldap -llber " \
Unknown entry '-pie' in $LIBS variable passed to setup.py

>From configure:
 --enable-pie Turn on pie support if available (default=yes)

Is it only my problem?
