Summary: symlink inconsistency smgl-fhs, xorg-server, kdm
           Product: Codex
           Version: test grimoire
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: smgl
        AssignedTo: sm-grimoire-bugs at lists.ibiblio.org
        ReportedBy: treeve at scarlet.be

smgl-fhs installs the following

/usr/X11R6
/usr/X11R6/bin
/usr/X11R6/bin/bin
/usr/X11R6/include
/usr/X11R6/include/X11
/usr/X11R6/include/X11/X11
/usr/X11R6/lib
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/X11

Why the bin/bin and X11/X11 parts?

xorg-server installs:
/usr/bin/Xorg
/usr/bin/X

# ls -l /mnt/other/usr/bin/X
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 Apr 25 08:54 /mnt/other/usr/bin/X -> Xorg

the X -> Xorg symlink is invalid, as it is missing the pathname

Furthermore, /usr/bin/kdm or /opt/kde4/bin/kdm, installed by kdebase or
kdebase4, have a hardcoded link to
/usr/X11R6/lib, even when built against xorg-modular.

Has no-one tried the kdm init script with xorg-modular, as it failed for me?
