           Summary: make crashes with: make: *** virtual memory exhausted.
                    Stop.
           Product: Codex
           Version: stable grimoire
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: devel
        AssignedTo: sm-grimoire-bugs at lists.ibiblio.org
        ReportedBy: tusker at tusker.org

During a build of openwrt buildroot, make complained of the virtual memory being
exhausted. This is strange, since the memory usage is very small, so upon
googling, I found the following:

http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-make/2004-06/msg00016.html

Which refers to:
https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/index.php?func=detailitem&item_id=1517

This diff that is supplied on that webpage fixes the problem, and the openwrt
builds correctly.

To fix it I created a PRE_BUILD:
default_pre_build  &&
cd  $SOURCE_DIRECTORY  &&
patch -p0 < $SCRIPT_DIRECTORY/eval-crash.diff
