I believe that Swenson Red is not as cold hardy as LaCrosse or St. Pepin. Some winter protection is recommended for Swenson Red here in the Twin Cities. -- Sam Brungardt, St. Paul, Minn. (USDA hardiness zone 4b)

Any perfect flowered grape that blooms at the same time will work.
LaCrosse & Swenson Red are suggested because they are similar to St.
Pepin in hardiness, ripening time and can be blended with St. Pepin in

2) Curious what people have used for pollinators for St. Pepin. Any
web site that mentions specific pollinators will mention Lacrosse or
Swenson Red, in that order of frequency. Has anyone else used
different grape varieties for pollination?
