[NAFEX] leachy phosphate?

Yes. It is one species (a lesser, but possibly most well known type) of Psilocybe mushroom that is indigenous to the Gulf coast. They don't actually cordon off the cow pastures. they spray them with fungicides and (I'm told) require fungicide in all the cattle feed sold here. The species in question grows on ruminant manures and as far as I know, does not form large mycelial colonies in the soil. There are far more potent species and those are generally Saprophytes that are far less likely to carry pathogenic bacteria such as E. coli, but they are less well know, especially by local law enforcement.
I must say, I know this from talking to local farmers and gardeners, not from taliking to law enforcement. (Such questions are likely to invite some undesirable "quality time" down at the station.)

An outlawed Fungi?  Are we talking
about the infamous “magic mushrooms”?  Has anyone clued law
enforcement into the fact that fungi live promarily underground and only poke
up to fruit?  I read an article years ago about a super colony of fungi
here in Mi that was possibly the largest living organism on the planet.  
You’re lucky they don’t declare
working the soil in general as working to support the illegal fungi.  
I can just imaging law enforcement cording
off an area with caution tape after finding suspicious mushrooms.  Isn’t
there real crime in that area?

It certainly leaches into the subsoil here in the Southeast, but we
have almost as much rain as the Pacific Northwest .
Phosphorus deficiency is a common problem in this area. Water soluble forms
only last for a season or two. Yes, Fungi can be great allies in growing
plants. Too bad we have an indigenous fungus here that is outlawed by
international treaties and is sought out and destroyed by law enforcement.
Their methods do not distinguish between one fungus and another.

Phosphorus doesn't hardly leach at all- even tripple
superphosphate, but quickly forms nearly insoluble precipitates with other
minerals becoming mostly unavailable to plants when applied to the soil. 
Where phosphorous pollutes water is when the soil itself erodes into the
water.   Anyway, that's how I understand it. As a fruit grower
and a gardener I have never experienced phosphorous deficiency.  Hooray
for our fungus friends.
