[NAFEX] What's the difference between Champagne Currants & WhiteCurrants?

Champagne currants are pink.  This variety has been marketed in the past
couple of years by a couple of mail order nurseries. -- Sam Brungardt,

I've been growing currants for 15 years and never heard of champagne
currants before.  How are they different than white currants?  I'm
assuming these would be used for making white sparkling wine.  Any
varieties that do particularly well in the upper midwest?
