[NAFEX] Water Core

A lot of people like the King just because of the water core. The only negative about the water core is that when any apple has water core it tends to not keep as well. Some frost or light freezing tends to cause more water core. If they are ripe before frost/freezing takes place you might pick them before they get the water core.

  Subject: [NAFEX] Water Core

  Greetings,

This is my first post! I have a Tompkins King apple that is prone to pretty severe water core. Is there anything I can do to reduce this? I was wondering about any particular soil amendments, or cultural strategies.

BTW, all of my apples, peaches, cherries, and pears came through the late freeze OK.

  Thanks,
