[NAFEX] Pawpaw seed--floaters and sinkers

I have germinated quite a few pawpaw seeds this year, and like Jim, I don't recall any seeds not sinking. Most germinated after 90 days of cold stratification. My guess is the floaters are less likely to be viable.

  Richard,
I don't think I have encountered a floating pawpaw seed - they all sink.
  And germination exceeds 90%.
Maybe you should split one or two floaters and see what is inside?

Am cleaning pawpaw seed to ship to someone who will germinate them. About 1/2 sink and about 1/2 float. Does one 1/2 or the other have a higher germination rate, after cold stratification, or do I assume they are all equally viable? Anyone with pawpaw seed experience in this area?

    Thanks,
