[NAFEX] A roundup of weed control alternatives

Of the Burnout/vinegar type herbicides I've tried, it's a Catch-22.
Anything they will totally kill is usually so tender you can scuffle it
out with a hoe as fast as you can spray. If it's too thick and deeply
rooted to hoe out easily (like clumps of bunch grass), the herbicides
will burn the top, but leave the crown intact to sprout back. As for
perennial weeds, they just sit and laugh at you and hold their glasses
out for a refill.

Subject: Re: [NAFEX] "Roundup"/ & poison ivy
You know, I admit to having used Roundup on poison ivy last year too. I
would not crow about it, though, knowing or even suspecting the
damage it does. It is a choice I would probably make again today, but
saddens me to poison the earth.
I might even be capable of killing a man in self-defense. And I suppose
would be relieved if I turned out to have the strength to defend
I sure as hell would not rejoice in it.
