There are not a great number of ribes that will do well there. You will need 
to provide shade in the afternoon, you will need a lot of mulch to keep the 
roots cooler, you will need to provide additional water. You should look at 
Glendale and Pixwell gooseberry and probably need to stick to Crandall for 
black currants, most of the others need approximately 1,000 to 1,200 cooling 
hours.
