[Market-farming] Sales

It seems that it does slow down most places with the start of school. 
Around here, great numbers of families wouldn't think of not keeping  a
garden, with the same foods always grown.  Now, anything i sell is a
thing different, but not much income from it.  If everyone has red
tomatoes, there are those that will buy all of my yellows or distinctive
heirlooms - if the price is fair to low.  Okra sells better, as do ripe
sweet peppers. unique onions, and some garlic.

All in all, tho i would wish for better market income closer to home, i
am thankful that in this part of the country - folk haven't stopped
taking care of their family's basic food needs!  It is a small
consolation, to know that people around here still know how to survive at
home and provide for family needs, thru farming and hunting.  
Not so good for  one who wishes to be a market gardener.
