[Market-farming] Local Food

I don't think the debate should be framed in terms of local or organic
food - instead I think it should be framed in terms of local AND organic
food.

I buy organic whenever I can, especially locally.  But I also buy local for
these reasons:

*supports the local economy - my friends and community members that grow on
a sustainable scale
*food is fresher, and I can find food that is healthier than that in the
supermarket or restaurants
*I know more about the food I buy - I can see where it is grown, and what
additives, etc are in it
*Less fossil fuels are used in its transport
*A local food economy is supported, thus making our local food supply more
stable in times of world economic fluctuations and supply
