> Is trellising the same as staking or caging?

No. Staking is usually a stake per plant, cages are, well, cages, made from
an assortment of material, most popular being concrete reinforcing wire.
Trellising encompasses several methods, from pea-fencing to bamboo teepees
to basket weaving.
