[freetds] Cannot connect to MSSQL named instance

That's a good question, to which the answer is I don't know (I am not
a systems administrator here). I did try telneting, but I find i can't
telnet to any port on that machine (or from a windows machine where
sql server management studio works fine with named instances).
So I'll ask our firewall adminstrators.
