when i do the iconv list i get:
ISO-10646/UCS2/
ISO-10646/UTF-8/
ISO-10646/UTF8/
UCS-2//
UCS-2BE//
UCS-2LE//
UCS2//
UTF-8//
UTF8//

obviously ISO-8859-1 is missng, could that be the problem? if so, how can i add
it to my iconv?

Quoting "ZIGLIO, Frediano, VF-IT" <Frediano.Ziglio at vodafone.com>:
