[freetds] Found Segmentation fault causes

Per the TODO, I plan to emulate Sybase's messages and behavior.  For writing
to the database, stop on error.  For reading, replace with '?'.  Emit
messages 2402 and 2403, respectively.  

Why would truncating on read be better?  I think substitution + warning
gives the application more flexibility.  If someone is willing to code for
it, we could allow configurable substitutions (i.e., something other than
'?') and/or a callback function that could intervene.
