Well, ODBC section in userguide is the worth!

I currently the main maintener of ODBC and I should revise it however I know
ODBC since ages so is difficult for me to explain things like dns-less...

If you configured freetds.conf for tsql the fastest way to configure FreeTDS
is to use freetds.conf connection.
Start from page http://www.freetds.org/userguide/x1853.htm.

Compile a odbc.ini section with information similar to tsql command. ie:

Driver	= /usr/local/lib/libtdsodbc.so
Servername	= tsql_server
DataBase	= tempdb

And replace /usr/local/lib/libtdsodbc.so with fullpath of your driver,
tsql_server with server used with tsql (-S parameter) and tempdb with your
db (remove line to use default db for user)

Now isql require this syntax
	isql DSN [UID [PWD]]
use odbc_server as your DSN and appropriate UID (username) and PWD
If you want to use domain account just use domain\username as UID and your
domain account password as PWD.
That's all!

If you want to write some of your experiences and/or have idea how to
improve ODBC userguide section...
