problem creating new connection with FreeTDS_JDBC

After many happy months with FreeTDS under perl, I have finally come to the
point where I need to do something with FreeTDS_JDBC. The only thing is
that I am having some weird problems. It works fine on a unix
box(FreeBSD-3.x,4.0-STABLE,5.0-CURRENT) but I am having problems on an NT
machine(NT4 sp6, which has a patch that seemed to fix the TCP stack that sp6
broke).

Here is the snippet of code where it throws an exception:

    Class.forName("com.internetcds.jdbc.tds.Driver");
    con =
DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:freetds:sqlserver://sql.foo.com/Testing",
        "test_user", "test_password");

And here is a little bit of the stack trace:

Exception- java.lang.NullPointerException
java.sql.SQLException
        at
com.internetcds.jdbc.tds.Constructors.newConnection(Constructors.java:305)
        at com.internetcds.jdbc.tds.Driver.connect(Driver.java:257)
        at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(Unknown Source)

So the question is, has anyone else run into this before? And before I
forget, this code is trying to be run from inside a servlet on a Tomcat 3.1
server. I know that this is not much to go on but I am rather green when it
comes to the java so let me know what else would be helpful and I will add
it next time.

Thanks for any help!

Ian
