[Cc-uk] Changing your mind and the young Bowie

I think it has always been accepted that the logic of a CC licence is that
once a person has been given a right to use and redistribute a particular
piece of work that right cannot be withdrawn unless the user is in breach;
so the licence is irrevocable. This is spelt out in the current Scottish
draft at www.jonathanmitchell.info/cc/cc_sco_licence.html at clause 5.2, but
is implicit in other versions. Thus the generic licence is stated to be
"perpetual (for the duration of the applicable copyright)"; the English
licence deletes "perpetual", the Canadian licence deletes the bracketed
words. I think that it is better to give explicit answers.
The practical answer may be that it is for this reason that it may be rash
to licence under a commercial licence. If what is licensed is
non-commercial, no derivatives, the young Bowie is in reality pretty fully
