Shareaza has implemented something similar to bt for "trackerless"
torrenting. When you do a torrent on Shareaza, whether connected to a
tracker or not, you advertize to other peers using the G2 hub network
that you are doing a torrent with a certain infohash. You can then
find other Shareaza users who are doing the same torrent with the same
infohash.

I am unclear on when and how peerid comes into play when a connection
is negotiatiated using this method. Peerid isn't strictly necessary
here, since the infohash is unique for every torrent, and, in certain
situations for using this method, no central tracker need exist.

Mike Stokes wrote this, so you could ask him to explain it, or figure
it out yourself from source.
