Actually, one might change a couple of other items, too.
אם הייתי רוצה לכתוב את המכתב הזה (את המייל הזה) בשפת עבר
אצטרך לכתוב כזו וכזה ונוכל להמשיך הלאה

which uses a little biblical kazo vekaze for some
ironic antique nuance in modern and yet follows a little more
opaquely for the biblical dialect. But Yossi Sarid would do a
better job.
And one should keep in mind the context where I did not in fact write
the letter in Hebrew, something that אם חפצתי would only hint at in biblical
because it's "qatel form" is already ambiguous between qotel and qatal.
