What change in participants?

The subjects of verse 18 are $KM and XMWR his father, and in verse 19
the boy, namely $KM the son as indicated by the context of the whole
chapter, did not delay is carrying out the action. I don't see a
break, the action in verse 18 leads to the action in verse 19.
