U.Cassuto (Exodus) in his comments on Ex 5:3 (3:18) states that the
difference between qrh & qr) is orthographic only. E.Tov* and J.W. Wevers**
are not so sure. The LXX, SamPent, Peshitta, Targums, Vulgate all appear to
support the reading qr) in Ex 3:18.

Tov suggests tentatively and Wevers affirms that the LXX employed etymology
to move from qrh to qr) with the meaning to call or summon.

Cassuto identifies qrh as the language of theophany and cites some ANE
examples.
