Dear Mr. Somsel:

But what would then be the meaning of EREB-BOQUER in Daniel 8:14 and what
historical events could be alluded to in Daniel 8:9-14 concerning the taking
away of the TAMID? After doing a search on the word TAMID in the Hebrew OT
(BHS) I found out that TAMID refers in fact to all the work in the Jewish
Sanctuary, therefore the taking away of the TAMID(DAILY) would be equivalent
with the SHUTTING DOWN of the Sanctuary. Is there such a historical event of
2300 evening-mornings (Sanctuary days) that would correspond to the taking
away of the DAILY in Daniel 8?

Regards,

Eduard

I assume that this is in reply to the question regarding the insertion of
an intercallary month to make the total of "evening-morning"s come to
2,300 for the period of the desecration of the temple. The problem is
that there is no way to make it come to such a total using a 12 month, 30
day calendar. Naturally, if it were a 365 day year it would be closer,
but there would be no need for an intercallary month. Also, even
supposing an intercallary month were used, there would be no more than
one month intercalated in a 3 yr period.
