A good discussion of this is Doug Gropp's article "Progress and Cohesion in Biblical
Narrative: The Function of K/B + the Infinitive Construct" in Walter R. Bodine (ed.),
Discourse Analysis of Biblical Literature: What it is and What it Offers. SBL Semeia
Studies. Scholars Press, 1995, pp. 183-212.

An analytical concordance such as Even-Shoshan also shows that certain verbs
"prefer" (i.e., tend to occur primarily with) either B or K.

Best wishes,
Fred
