[B-Greek] Same word?

Are the verbs EXOUDENEW and EXOUQENEW two different verbs or simply
different orthographic forms of the same verb? Bauer-Aland gives them two
separate entries, but their meaning seems the same and the difference is
only the aspiration of the dental (though the form EXOUDENOW is of course a
little more different).
I read Thackeray, Grammar LXX, p. 104-5 but didn't found him completely
convincing in the 'one is earlier than the other' bit.
