Hi Wheatsville friends!

I hope you are staying sane in this hopped up holiday season!

Our schedule changes a little bit during the holidays. Our hours are as follows:
We close at 7 pm on Christmas Eve and will be closed all day on Christmas Day.
We close early on New Year's Eve at 10pm and will be closed all day on New Year's Day.
Other than that, hours are normal!

At Wheatsville, we have many great gift items that you might want to check out before you head to the mall. Between us and Toy Joy in our neighborhood and the other local businesses in town, maybe you can avoid the mall altogether! (Maybe you thought ahead and picked up some gifts at the Wheatsville Artsfest, too!) If you haven’t looked at our housewares gift selection, come check us out. We’ve got fun, silly and cute items as well as fair trade items that you can feel really good about giving.

One item that has been extremely popular so far this year are Maggie’s Organic Socks. http://www.organicclothes.com/ Made in sweat shop-free factories and worker-owned co-ops, these socks are warm and nice and organic!

We’ve got 2005 calendars here including selections from Adbusters, Cat lovers against the bomb, and the Slingshot pocket planner.

We’ve also got silly items, such as the Bigfoot action figure and the Crazy Cat Lady action figure. Wheatsville printed items like T-shirts and Water bottles also make good gifts.

The Wheatsville deli is preparing for a great holiday season with party platters and side dishes. Party platters are available by pre-order (with 48 hour notice please) We’re featuring crudite trays, Meat and cheese trays, fruit and cheese trays and a middle eastern tray. All of our trays are beautifully laid out and are packed with delicious foods. Order one for your next party or as appetizers for your holiday dinner.

The deli will also be featuring side dishes and pies for your holiday needs. Look for such deli favorites as Garlic mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, cranberry relish, and more. These items were well received during Thanksgiving and they should work well for Christmas as well. Whether you are celebrating a holiday or not, you may want to pick up a delicious pie from the deli! We’ll be featuring chocolate mousse pie, traditional and vegan pumpkin pie, pecan pie and chocolate pecan pie, our vegan coconut cream pie and our chocolate peanut butter pie. These pies are some of the best in town!

December Co-op Advantage specials are also rocking along. Some highlights include Cascadian Farm Organic Cereal for $2.79, Endangered Species Chocolate Bars for $1.59, Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies $1.89, Muir Glen Organic canned Tomatoes 14.5 oz for 99¢, Virgil’s Root Beer and new premium Cream Soda for $3.99.

Don’t miss one of the real favorites of the holiday season, Silk Nog. A healthier version of traditional egg nog, but is still an extremely rich beverage treat.

I hope that you have a great holiday season and get to spend time with family and friends. Make sure to check out the lights at 37th street and keep warm!
See you next year!
