Hi Lyon, indeed it has. :)

I believe Paul has a script on his page
(http://dufflebunk.homeip.net/~dufflebunk/sorcerer/) that can rebuild your
packages file.

2.6 is really nice, though some packages don't work. Hamish and Arwed have
been
working on some sanitized headers for it, which he posted to the ML, IIRC,
that
need more testing before being pulled into test.

I'd recommend staying with stable Sorcery just because devel isn't guaranteed
to
be working quite right, but it does have a few cosmetic fixes which aren't in
stable yet. ;)

Hmmm, Sorcery only has "/bin/install" in the protected file. Which is correct,
/bin/install or /usr/bin/install?

Good. :)

Please file bugs for all of them, though if it's 2.6-related we'll probably
mark
it as INVALID since we are not responsible for rewriting any code to work for
2.6. ;)

Yes, we have several circular dependencies like this (cups + samba for
another).
Any ideas on how to resolve these?

alsa-driver works fine for me on my 2.6.1-mm5 system. Remember that you still
have to at least compile the "Sound system" as a module (not ALSA or OSS, but
the Sound overmenu). Also, module-init-tools has been downgraded to 3.0-pre5
due to problems with -pre7, please check that you're using -pre5.

Compiled fine for me on my 2.6 system, but if you're having problems, try
dvdrtools, as that compiles fine.

See: http://bugs.sourcemage.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5612

The only KDE apps that failed for me were kdebindings and kdemultimedia, of
which I used the 3_2 CVS branch (now in test and stable grimoires under
kde/CVS). The rest I am using 3.1.95 (the 3.2rc2), which compiled fine.

Probably a 2.6 problem.

This is a known problem. If you have time to try the possible fixes in:
http://bugs.sourcemage.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4575 that'd help.

ffmpeg compiles fine on my 2.6 machine, have you recast your glibc after
booting
into 2.6? It sounds as though you haven't with all of these problems.

Again, compiles fine here.

This also fails for me, but as it's a 2.6 bug I haven't filed a report for it.

Mind filing a bug report for the newer version?

Haven't tried.

Haven't tried.

Not for me. A cast of linux triggers this to be compiled, but it only compiles
and installs the nvidia.o module.

I have a bug filed for that. If you have any ideas, please share them. I've
been
thinking of just removing prepare_install, but not sure what else that might
break. See: http://bugs.sourcemage.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4533

File a bug. ;)

Should there be? Doesn't the logger create that?

> - nfs warning: mount version older than kernel

There are known problems with NFS and 2.6, though that's mainly if your NFS
server is running 2.6. Check LKML.

Hmmm...I just call SpamAssassin through procmail and that seems to work. I
haven't tried using SpamAssassin's init.

Yeah, we haven't found anyone to replace you yet. :(

Thanks. :) Just ignore my above entreaties to do so then, as I responded to
this
as I read it. ;)
