Comments on this at Voat:
1)

Counter-Conspiracy: this is actually carefully crafted political messaging
designed to promote apathy amongst voters in order to convince them to stay
home and not bother trying to exercise their democratic rights.
2)
Well it sucks. With the corruption in place and the parties controlling
voting booths, I have no faith there is a reasonable mechanism for
government change. We basically have to hope for a group within these
circles to basically have a paradigm shift and see public interest as a
worth while pursuit.
3)
That's actually the most effective thing the supporters of the status quo
can do. "Why bother? How can you fight such large, powerful, and entrenched
interests?
4)
I hate comments like this. No matter how obvious you may think this is, the
average Joe would call you a conspiracy theorist for believing America was
controlled by secret powers.
5)

It is a natural state of society. When there are no other countries to
surpass, no external or internal enemies, society switches from "we against
them" mentality to "me against others" in a sense of wealth acquisition.
Same thing hapenned to Roman empire back in ~30 ac and crept on until 300ac
when rich exploited the poor to the point where there was no country
anymore.

Mentality switch can be seen in post-communist countries, where citizen
were traditionally working together to reveal governments lies,
distributing banned books etc, and individuals working for the central
power for individual perks. This has switched, as people work against each
other nowaday in a sense of competiveness in personal wealth, and goverment
works somewhat together to undermine citizens power to thwart existing
order of power, known as regulated democracy.
6)
I disagree, most people will agree that our politicians are bought and
sold. It's not a cabal, it's an auction. If your average Joe had the money,
he could buy some politicians too.
7)
Its in our faces too. You want to see it in action on a smaller scale look
at how professional sports arenas get approved and paid for by public tax
payer money. Now imagine this occurring on a much larger scale.
8)
I remember when I kicked out Facebook. I felt pretty lonely, but now I feel
a lot more happy without all that drama. (also the peace of mind from all
that other shit it has been doing is a bonus.)

and the current administration's mandate to build a 1000 petaflop
supercomputer for government use (the fastest one now is a 28pf)
