Hello Michael,

It good to know that you are using plant tissue analysis to investigate the elemental content of crops. Are you finding the analytical results to be informative?

Are there any locations where plant and/or soil analyses have been used to compare control plots that have not been amended according to your recommendations with plots that have been amended according to your recommendations?... If not, have plant and/or soil analyses shown consistent changes over time when soils were amended according to your recommendations?

There are many labs that perform elemental analysis of plant tissue for much less than $50/sample so you might want to shop around.
here is one example: http://www.aasl.psu.edu/Plant%20Submission%20Form%20%28Research%29.pdf
