Dear esteemed Permaculture Allies-

Please join us at TLC Farm in Portland, OR for 2 special evening events next
week,
which are extended to the public on behalf of the Permaculture Design Course
happening through July 7th.

Please RSVP to permaculture@tryonfarm.org for both events so that we may get
a sense of transportation needs and whether or not we need to run a shuttle.

Both events are free to attend, and we will also encourage generosity through
participation
in the gift economy (AKA "passing the hat").

First published in 1978, The One-Straw Revolution made an enduring impact on
people seeking to create a truly sustainable agriculture. Out of print for
many
years, the book is one of the foundations of the international Permaculture
movement. The New York Review of Books recently re-published The One-Straw
Revolution, with a preface by Wendell Berry and a new introduction by Frances
Moore Lappé.

In addition to editing The One-Straw Revolution, Larry also co-edited the
Tilth
Association’s The Future Is Abundant, and he is well versed in new approaches
to agriculture in our region.

Sarah Sullivan is a graduate of Tagari Farm's (The Permaculture
Research Institute's) permaculture design course in NSW, Australia
and holds bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Long
Island University’s Southampton College. During her years in
Hawaii, Sarah taught and practiced permaculture and co-founded
Hawaii SEED, the grassroots coalition educating the public about
diverse, local agriculture in Hawaii.

Sarah now resides in Portland, Oregon where she works with the Institute for
Responsible
Technology to eliminate GMOs from the food supply. With extensive

saving, effective activism and community organizing Sarah uses
experiential, hands-on education as a teaching and learning tool.

between leaders and active citizens. With a photo-slide-show of years
of environmental action, Sarah will inspire you to awaken your own
activist self with her stories of effective activism and the works of
prominent leaders Starhawk, Paul Hawken and Derrick Jensen.
