re: Banana

While I have you musa freaks attention could any of you tell me what triggers bloom in banana? I have bananas that are three years old and they have yet to bloom.
I grow them inside in an atrium but they are subject to short days in winter and long days in summer does that affect fruiting? I thought maybe moonsoon, or light intensity but I haven't found anything in the literature.

I think the sugar banana or lady's finger is a mit more towards the hardy
end. I know it grows well in Sydney Australia, but not sure how it would go
in frost. It usually fruits the second year I think, so if it kep dying off
that wouldn't be much good.
