Farm Manager and intern supervisor
at Djanbung Gardens, Northern NSW

Djanbung Gardens requires an experienced permaculturist to live on site as a
resident farm manager. This is an essential role in preparations for a new
era of activity and the introduction of Accredited Permaculture Training
(APT) programmes at the Gardens. It presents a unique opportunity to be part
of a team at the cutting edge of permaculture training and development.

Tasks will include:
- managing the gardens, landscape and farm operations
- conducting guided tours of the gardens
- coordinating and supervising interns and WWOOFers
- training APT students (particularly Cert's I-III) in practical skills and
applications

Key Skills required:
- PDC and practical experience in permaculture implementation and
maintenance
- Knowledge and experience in horticulture, organic production and small
livestock
- Tools & equipment maintenance, general handy-person
- People management skills, team leadership and communication skills
- Ability to plan work schedules and maintain farm records
- Drivers licence

Qualities:
A passion for permaculture and sharing knowledge and skills with others
Reliable, dependable and not afraid of hard work
Willing to gain APT qualifications and training requirements
Entrepreneurial spirit to develop income generating activities
Willing to resolve differences/conflicts, adaptable & cooperative
Commitment to excellence and professional attitude to work

Opportunities:
This position will not be initially waged but provides opportunities for
income generation through
- growing organic crops for local markets
- commission from other market sales
- commission from guided tour income
- payment for APT teaching

Accommodation will be provided on the property.
