Hey guys, bigotry is boring and pretty un-permaculture-ish (I reckon).
I dont think that commenting on the failiings of the Amerikan education amounts to bigotry

On behalf of Australians committed to tolerance and global harmony, I'd like to apologise for the bigoted sentiments expressed against Americans or any other ethnic group or country on this list - by anyone residing in this big, beautiful, complex land.

This assumes that my comments were bigoted - please explain why my comments were bigoted.

Sure, we can all poke sticks and look for flaws, difference, historical blunders and examples of genocide, and do lists of 'we're better than you'. Isn't the challenge looking for similarities, rejecting competition and working towards reconciliation? I could have sworn I saw 'care of people' somewhere in the permaculture principles.
I'm not dedicated to poking sticks at people and I wasn't saying that "we're better than you" out of some sense of competition. I was merely being robust in my response to a conspiracy theory that has no serious grounding in reality.

If we go believing in every conspiracy or supposed fear or threat dreamed up by someone then we start playing into the hands of the facist elite. This is precisely the aim of the Murdoch dominated media. Supersitions are the opium of the people to paraphrase Marx.

I'll apoligize again for upsetting people - but time is short - look out the window at the very real consequences of capitilist hegemony and the despoliation of the earth.

Here's a quick predictin that I m,ade several years ago and have had no reaason to change my mind about since. By 2012-15 the major world states will have stopped fighting wars because by then we will be too concerned bout feeding everybody at home on the planet. :"The fools who lead us aren't gonna feed us.."

Shit, I used to be a lot more smug (about being Australian) before Johnny H. dragged us all further to the right and took to standing proudly next to Dubbya with a smirk and permanent brown stain on the middle of his face. Hell, after he sent our boys (and girls) off to fight fictitious wars, he even got invited to go over to play on the ranch. Over the years I've always been really heartened by the number of Americans I have met who are subverting the dominant paradigm and working hard to develop solutions. Good on you. flick

Whatya reckon Bob, you head to the USA and do some educating? I mean, if it's that easy to make some commentary on the folks across the pond...sum them up and have the solution all in one paragraph.  Let's see the action mister man.
