yep, you caught me on that one. for a while i used to use pauwlonia leaves
(had one in the back yard), but then someone said, that it is a very strong
cardiac, and dogs are said to die if they chew on pauwlonia. even though my
smart book on plants (uphof, economic plants of the world) doesnt mention
its use as cardiac or any medicin, for that matter, and even though the
chinese are sait that they used a tea from pauwlonia leaves for hair washing
to restore its blackness (liver strengthening or simply dye?), i figured i
go back to plates rather than poisoning myself or the unexpected guest.

clues on the toxicity of pauwlonia tomentosa, anyone?
