Cool. Still not sure that input/output is enough or necessary. Is
being the color blue an input or an output? I think what things are

It might be significant (good or bad) to bees or other insects.
Why not use either input or outpup as a tag or qualifier that can be attached to pieces of information or attributes associated with objects.
Say, with salix babylonica or river birch under cultural requirements
"tolerates wet conditions; in the wild, commonly found near bodies of water" could have the tag "input" attached.
