yes, we are going to transform our yards to do more of that, for sure...
I agree and no longer use vitamin/mineral type supplements whatsoever.
However, there are certain areas that can be helpful.
Like lecithin.
Not going to wait for the doctors to learn the stuff that I have been finding out, though! lol

I would only take iodine supplements on doctor's orders.

Kelp probably contains a lots of iodine. I was adding powdered kelp
regularly to food and after a while notice a case of pimples on my face.
Stopped the kelp, pimples went way. I think there is some endocrine
connection with it, which causes pimples.

Getting most of your nutrition from food is the best way always; this
is why you need to grow your own.
