Yes, she can go to OCBA's website and follow the link to join the listserv and you should encourage her to become a member of OCBA, as well.

Before doing anything, take a look at the article <here>. Then do the math to determine whether or not the colony may be in the twilight zone between having any brood and having obvious evidence of a new queen.

Hello OCBA, I have a friend who had a strong hive in UNC’s community garden, however it appears to have been queen-less for going on a month now. Her hive looks healthy and strong with plenty of food, but her population is dwindling and she is in desperate need of brood. She asked me to post the following for her:

I am in need of about 2 frames with capped brood. I have one hive that is currently queen-less as my purchased queen either isn't there anymore or isn't laying. I can remedy the queen issue but before a new queen starts to lay I need some brood to carry the hive over as I currently have none. I am happy to swap some frames or purchase some frames. Thanks!!

Paige

I am unable to help her as I had just done a split myself, and have mostly drone brood.

Also, she would like to be on the OCBA list serve, I think she can just go on the website and sign up - is that correct?

Thank you OCBA!
