I am southwest of Hillsborough, off Dimmocks Mill Rd., and would be willing to host some bees.

Subject: [ocba] Bee-sitting... HELP!

One of my neighbours decided to freak out about me having bees and called my home owner (I rent) and now I'm not allowed to have them. I've got a hive and I'm picking the bees up from Bailey's on Friday (I don't even have them yet!) - would someone be willing to babysit them until I sort out my situation?

Much thanks
Song

Hi all,
I'm supposed to give a 'tour' of the beehive tomorrow to a local garden
club - around 10:30 or 11am.  The forecast is 57 degrees and cloudy.  I
typically wouldn't bother the bees on a day like that, but the club is
asking if I'll still do it.
Will I be doing the bees any harm? If so, I'll re-schedule..
Thanks for your thoughts!
Anne

Hi Anne,

I'd say do, I wouldn't open my hive up for any longer than 4-5 mins max. Remember they are trying to grow and brood temp is close to 95.

I'd call it if it was my yard.

Thanks for confirming my instincts!
I've re-scheduled.
